What’s the best advice for a job seeker?

Be confident in yourself! Some of the most common feedback we receive from clients after interviews is centered around nervousness or uneasiness displayed by the candidate. Being confident and sure of yourself will often overcome resume or experience flaws.

What’s the biggest piece of advice you can give a hiring manager?

Hire the candidate, not the resume. Obviously, background and experience are important when qualifying candidates. But if you will only hire candidates that check 10 out of 10 boxes on their resume, you will undoubtedly miss out on individuals that would be assets to your organization.

What’s your favorite inspirational quote?

“Motivation is fickle. It comes and goes. It is unreliable and when you are counting on motivation to get your goals accomplished – you will likely fall short. So, don’t expect to be motivated every day to get out there and make things happen. Count on discipline. You know what you have to do. So, make yourself do it!”

Proudest Placement:

“I was working with a proven sales rep looking for a better company culture and growth potential in a new role. After working through the process with our client, he received an offer which was significantly lower than what he was looking to make. The compensation difference just couldn’t justify him accepting the position, so he had to decline. The candidate and I would check-in every now and then to see if we could find him a match.

Fast forward a year, the same client opened-up a higher-level role with management responsibilities and more suitable compensation package. I called the candidate and he immediately said he wanted to talk with them. He had wanted to work for this company since he initially met with them and they wanted him, too. So, we got him reconnected and were able to negotiate a strong package but more importantly a better culture and opportunity.

This new position is a step up in his career with leadership responsibilities and real growth potential. And the client is thrilled!”
