Client Background:
The client, a private equity firm that has held a community association company in the Northeast US for multiple years was looking to take the organization to the next level with a splash hire. Knowing they needed someone that understands the nuance of the community association companies they reached out to AR Real Estate.
Challenge:
Challenge was simple, what is the splash hire? To this organization it was saying we are going to force our expansion at the table and find the perfect person to be the tip of the arrow. Pulling a big-time name in the business to a much smaller company was the real challenge but know AR Real Estate had the connections we knew success could be found.
AR Real Estate Approach:
Worked with the client to build a robust company target list of who this person needs to come from. After narrowing down that list to 7 companies we chose the type 3 at each company and started the cold calls. Setting a goal of 5 presents for a position this high level and this niche we knew was ambitious. Each candidate needed to have heavier vetting, finding out money, interest and ultimately their 5–10-year plans as well. Yes, we wanted speed, but thoroughness is what would win this one.
Result:
Building real relationships with candidates so they remember you who this role was filled. After 7 tries trying to get ahold of what would be the eventual placement, we started to call others we’ve spoken to earlier to find a way to the candidate. Any type of connection or person they may know eventually getting lucky. From the moment we found the placements profile to first communication was 11 total touches. Once the candidate was in front of the firm, it took a little time and negotiation but was the definition of a Win, Win, Win.
